Attached is a sample program using the Sunrise/Sunset application specific function block. The block uses 36 application specific function zone slots, so it requires a controller with the expanded memory. An XD or XB series or the M3 Custom controllers with the expanded memory.

Program requires M3 CLS v2.3.1 higher

This is a very useful block for applications that operate based on sunrise and sunset times. Lighting systems would be the most obvious. It uses longitude and latitude inputs (degrees and minutes) and the time zone difference from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Offset adjustments are available within the block.

The results are within 2 or 3 minutes of local published times. Setting the controller for daylight savings time may also be important depending on your location and preferences.
