I am struggling with a rather simple task. Here is the problem:
I would like my M3 CD12 to send the inport status out on the serial port every time the status of the inport changes. I know that you can send a read command to the M3 and then receive the inport status but I don't want to use that kind of polling method. Does somebody know how to achive this behavior? The reason why I need it is because I have an application that needs to react on changes and I don't want to do a lot of work on unnecessary polling. Any help would be really appreciated. |

Hello Drugge.
In any type of communication available for the Millenium 3 (Serial Link, Modbus RS-485, Modbus TCP/IP) the controller cannot start the communication. The other device connected to the Millenium has to be a Master/Client and poll from the controller. Being this said, polling is completely necessary if you want to read information from a Millenium controller. Best regards, Jesus |

Then I guess I will have to do the polling or find another way (another device?) that can provide the functionallity I am looking for. Best regards Emil Drugge |
